Free “Rain Garden & Rain Barrel” Demonstration

( James City County )  On Saturday, October 16th, PRIDE (Protecting Resources in Delicate Environments) will conduct a FREE “Rain Garden & Rain Barrel” demonstration starting at 10:00 a.m. at James City County ’s Fire Station #5, 3201 Monticello Avenue, in Williamsburg .  Learn how to reduce pollution, flooding and erosion while conserving water by utilizing rain water to create and install a rain garden & rain barrel at the live, on-site demonstration.  The event is free.  Limited space.  Reservations required.  RSVP to Beth Davis , Environmental Education Coordinator, at (757) 253-6859.  For more information, visit www.protectedwithpride.org.

PRIDE is the educational component of the County’s water quality education program.  The goal of PRIDE is to improve water quality in James City County by teaching residents about the importance of watershed protection while providing residents with the specific watershed restoration and protection tools.
